The Photographer

My name is Natalie, I am a science undergraduate, studying in the UK. In my spare time I like to experiment with photography, design and other art misadventures. I am a member of my university's Photosoc and a keen user of the Darkroom facilities available here.

Why Photography?

Photography is about catching moments, snapshots of something that might never exist again, or at least not in the way you personally see it and experience it. You can, even with the simplest of cameras turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. The sky is my greatest inspiration, because its elements are ever-changing. The sky throws up brand new masterpieces every few minutes, like the oceans of the world, the sky, for me, represents absolute freedom. But photography isn’t always about catching moments; photography is a great medium for exploring different concepts and experimenting with different techniques.
